Summerland Festival of Lights

Friday November 28th, 2025

About the Festival

Thirty-eight years ago, a few creative and community-minded locals came together with a simple idea: to light up downtown Summerland and share the magic of the season with residents and visitors alike. What began as a small gathering has grown into one of the South Okanagan’s most beloved annual traditions, the Summerland Festival of Lights.

Today, that original vision still shines bright. Each year, more than 10,000 residents and visitors alike fill our charming downtown streets to experience an unforgettable night of music, food, family fun, festive cheer and of course fireworks as we officially kick off the holiday season.

From twinkling light displays to local entertainers, artisan vendors, and holiday treats, the Festival of Lights captures the true spirit of community, celebrating everything that makes Summerland a wonderful place to live, visit, and do business.

Now entering its 38th year, the Summerland Festival of Lights continues to grow bigger and brighter. It’s the premier pre-Christmas event in the South Okanagan, bringing together residents, businesses, and visitors to celebrate the joy of the season, together, under the lights.
